My Data Story: I've been working with data for over 9 years. I started with using Excel from GA exports, analyzing data and create reports. When clients asked for an easier way to access data, I learned Joomla and built a custom web portal for dashboards and report downloads that was easy to share and access. About eight years ago, I faced some challenges with larger datasets that required more complicated cleansing, sorting and analysis. The ideal solution was Microsoft SQL and relational databases. It was like a door to another world. Everything about relational data makes sense to me. I thoroughly enjoyed using SQL as my 'go-to' data tool and earned my MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) certification. But I still needed visualizations for clients, so Power BI was naturally the next step in my data journey. I am and continue to be impressed with the power and flexibility of Power BI. I learned DAX and M Language (Power Query) and earned more Microsoft Certifications in BI Reporting and Data Management/Analytics to complete my MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) certification. Working with DAX is my favorite aspect of Power BI. I feel like I have magical fingers :). I can change any dataset, prepare and clean create models, make calculations, provide analysis and so much more. Power BI makes it much easier for me to show data in a beautiful and digestable version. "DAX is Easy to Learn, but Hard to Master", says Mike Carlo, Microsoft MVP. I find this to be true. Since then, I've had the pleasure to work in an Enterprise Level BI Engineer position, experiencing a wide variety of platforms, systems, and working with an amazing team. We are called "CHAMPIONS" for a reason = the Dream Team :). Many thanks go out to all my CCI team members - my friends - for a truly unforgettable experience.
